Journal

What Does Our Journal Cover?

Our articles are mostly based on questions and observations from the field, addressing practical issues we encounter while designing a project. For example, we describe what we have learned in the restaurant design process and how we prioritise the experience of the people who use a space. From time to time, drawing on our completed projects as a starting point, we also share the thinking behind design decisions.

From Restaurant Design to Architectural Practice

We combine the experience gained in restaurants, cafés and F&B venues with a broad architectural practice that extends to residential and office projects. In our articles we try to show how this experience carries over to different project types, which design principles stay constant and which approaches change with the space. Our aim is not only to showcase finished work but to make visible the way of thinking behind it.

Topics covered here include our design processes and our material and detail decisions, the elements that shape the guest experience in restaurant and café projects, and lessons learned from our projects in Türkiye and abroad. Following our journal is a way to get to know CO Mimarlık's design approach more closely.

Why Do We Write?

Chamber of Architects of Türkiye and other professional bodies often stress the importance of sharing architecture with the public, which is valuable both for the visibility of the profession and for access to accurate information. That is why we update our journal regularly and continue to share our team's observations here.

Our journal is written by the CO Mimarlık team, bringing observations from the field here at regular intervals. If you have questions or a project idea you'd like to work on together, get in touch with us.

Below you'll find our latest articles. Whenever we publish a new article, this list updates automatically.

In writing, our goal is not to offer ready-made formulas but to show what it means to approach a project with the right questions. That is why we prefer to describe concrete decisions from real projects rather than abstract principles. Over time, this page will continue to grow as CO Mimarlık's journal archive.
