İki Duble Ocakbaşı Restaurant Design
We designed an ocakbaşı grill restaurant on Çalış Beach in Fethiye. İki Duble Ocakbaşı brings traditional seaside culture together with a contemporary interpretation, in an original, contemporary atmosphere. The sea view, outdoor living and generous terraces form the basis of the design, creating a seamless relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. In keeping with the restaurant's own concept, we adopted an original design language that reflects the identity of the space itself.
Materials and Atmosphere in Ocakbaşı Restaurant Design
Natural timber, woven textures, warm tones and layered lighting give the space a warm atmosphere. The relaxed, Mediterranean character of Çalış Beach merges with the strong, social nature of ocakbaşı culture, giving the traditional shared table a contemporary interpretation through the view and the open-air experience. In the materials, we highlighted local textures and seaside culture, so the venue offers both the traditional ocakbaşı experience and a modern restaurant atmosphere.
Indoor–Outdoor Relationship in Restaurant Design
Generous terraces, seating areas and the sea view were designed together, making outdoor use a natural part of the restaurant experience. The result is a warm, inviting atmosphere that comes alive at different times: airy with sea views during the day, and more intimate with layered lighting in the evening.
At CO Mimarlık, we created an original design that brings together the natural atmosphere of Çalış Beach, the sea view and the culture of eating together in one experience. Design Decisions Specific to Çalış Beach, Fethiye
The distinctive seaside fabric of Çalış Beach directly shaped our design decisions. We planned the space with a flexible layout suited to both day and night use: generous terraces give guests an uninterrupted sea view, while the warm, inviting interior forms a harmonious whole with the open-air experience outside. This makes İki Duble Ocakbaşı a meeting point for both locals and holidaymakers, giving it an original identity that combines seaside culture with a modern restaurant experience.
