We developed this henna night and engagement venue design for Ata Konağı, reinterpreting the historic fabric of Hamamönü with a grand celebratory atmosphere. The historic mansion's stone surfaces and timber details meet crystal chandeliers, elegant textiles and warm lighting; this was the project's fundamental starting point.
Historic Fabric and Materials in Henna and Engagement Venue Design
Varied table and seating layouts create a grand, inviting atmosphere suited to henna nights and engagement celebrations. We preserved the original character of the historic building while adding functional solutions for contemporary events, offering both the grandeur and the comfort expected of such a venue. As a global architectural approach that adapts historic buildings to today's needs also shows, striking the right balance between preserving heritage and updating function is essential. This balance lies at the heart of Ata Konağı's design philosophy, and we kept the materials consistent with the historic fabric.
A Grand Atmosphere for Special Days
We brought together historic atmosphere, light and detail so that the space itself becomes the experience of a special day. Crystal chandeliers and warm lighting give the venue a grand character, supported by elegant textiles, so guests feel part of a special day the moment they enter. The balance between stone surfaces and timber details keeps the historic fabric alive, and we carried the same grand language through to the floor finishes.
We created a flexible layout suited to events of different sizes, with generous areas for large henna nights and intimate corners for more personal engagement ceremonies. You can explore similar work on our interior architecture projects page. We kept the same grand language in the outdoor areas as well.
Designed by CO Mimarlık, this henna and engagement venue brings Hamamönü's historic identity together with the grandeur of special days, with every detail helping guests remember the historic atmosphere long after. In short, it is a tangible example of past and present meeting under one roof, and over time Ata Konağı has become one of Hamamönü's grandest celebration venues.
