MEŞHUR TAVACI RECEP USTA / BURSA BRANCH
The Meşhur Tavacı Recep Usta interior represents one of Bursa's most established tava (pan-cooked meat) restaurant chains. The project offers a holistic design approach that carries tradition into a modern spatial experience. At CO Mimarlık, our aim was to interpret the brand's deep-rooted culinary identity in Bursa in a contemporary spatial language, offering guests an experience that is both familiar and new. Inspired by Bursa's historic architectural fabric, the venue reflects the brand's original spatial language, reinterpreting the lines, proportions and forms of traditional Turkish architecture.
What We Did for the Meşhur Tavacı Recep Usta Interior
We combined the restaurant's decades-old culinary heritage with the principles of modern interior design, using timber textures and copper accessories that carry traces of Ottoman-era coffeehouse and eatery culture, giving the space a warm, authentic atmosphere. This approach blends the traditional Ottoman architecture elements of Turkish architecture with today's restaurant design standards, carrying the brand's story onto the walls, the textures and the lighting.
Material and Lighting Choices
We used solid timber tables, copper lamps and natural stone textures, carrying the brand's authentic identity inside. A warm-toned lighting scheme offers a comfortable dining experience at both lunch and dinner, and natural materials on floors and walls also support the acoustic comfort of the space, making guests' time there more enjoyable.
Functional Planning and Service Flow
For a busy restaurant, a seamless kitchen–service flow is critical. That is why we reworked the transitions between dining room, kitchen and storage to increase staff efficiency, and built hygienic surface materials and ventilation solutions into the design, treating the guest and staff experience as a whole.
CO Mimarlık's Approach to Restaurant Design
At CO Mimarlık, in every restaurant design project, we aim to turn the brand's story into a spatial language, and Meşhur Tavacı Recep Usta is a tangible reflection of this philosophy, designed with functional flow, hygiene standards and brand identity considered together.
