BALIKTAŞI HOTEL RESTAURANT
In Ordu, we turned the Balıktaşı Hotel Restaurant into a warm, sophisticated meeting place, an example of hotel restaurant design that gives a hotel's restaurant an identity of its own. This was the project's starting point, and it also supports the hotel's overall sense of hospitality.
Hotel Restaurant Design: Materials and Light
Dark timber surfaces, natural textures and warm light create the restaurant's inviting atmosphere, while geometric lights on the ceiling give the space a strong rhythm; in a hotel restaurant, rhythm and atmosphere sit at the heart of the guest experience. Wine display areas, custom furniture and a view opening onto the sunset enrich the experience, and we kept the materials and floor finishes consistent with this warm language.
View and Sophisticated Details
We brought materials, light and the view together in a holistic layout, designing every detail in harmony with the hotel's overall character and planning the seating for different scenarios. As a world-renowned gastronomy guide also suggests, the guest experience is stronger when atmosphere and view are considered together in a hotel restaurant. This balance matches the design philosophy of the Balıktaşı Hotel Restaurant directly, and our lighting scenarios support it too.
We made the wine display areas one of the focal points of the space and gave it a characterful identity with custom furniture, so guests enjoy their meal with visual richness. You can explore similar work on our restaurant and café projects page. We continued the same view-focused approach in the large windows opening to the outside. In hotel restaurants, too, we plan our restaurant interior design decisions together with the view.
At the Balıktaşı Hotel Restaurant, CO Mimarlık developed a hotel restaurant design that combines materials, light and view in a single experience, giving the restaurant an independent identity within the hotel. Over time, Balıktaşı has become one of Ordu's notable meeting places, popular with hotel guests and local residents alike; a tangible example of enriching the hotel experience with an independent restaurant identity.
