The PizzaTime branches in Ankara are an example of pizza restaurant design that carries the brand's identity into the neighbourhood. We aimed to go beyond quick service and create a point of attraction in each restaurant's neighbourhood, turning the pizza restaurant into a lively meeting place that takes part in local social life.
Pizza Restaurant Design: Colour and Material
A strong use of colour is the space's most distinctive decision: red walls give the room a lively, appetising feel, balanced by brick surfaces and timber tables, while black tiles create a strong contrast with the red and pendant lamps leave a soft light over the tables. The result is a colourful yet warm material palette.
A Visible Kitchen and Open Service Area
Instead of hiding the kitchen, we made it part of the space: the oven and black-tiled counter sit in guests' line of sight, making preparation part of the dining experience, while blackboard menus add a friendly voice. An open service area keeps orders moving quickly and smoothly, so the kitchen becomes both the heart and the showcase of the venue.
Façade, Staircase and Branch Identity
We ensured continuity between how the restaurant is perceived from outside and the experience inside. Red awnings and a large logo make the façade readable from the street; across branches we kept the same brand character while letting each location relate to its surroundings. On one branch's façade, a black mural gives the street a distinct character, and colourful drawings on the stair wall add a playful story inside.
Our Approach to Pizza Restaurant Design
Every restaurant calls for a different solution depending on its brand and location. That is why we first analyse the menu and target audience, then plan the concept, materials and lighting, and finally follow construction closely, keeping the budget and operational flow in view throughout.
